The first commercially produced bio-stimulation lamp was a lamp known as - Bioptron Lamp - , which worked on the principle of polarisation of light emitted by a halogen lamp. These apparatuses started to be produced after the scientists had confirmed the positive effects of polarised light on living tissue in 1981. They were produced as small compact handy bio lamps  or as substantially more expensive large-area radiators, which were designed exclusively for professional application. However, more extensive spreading outside of medical centres and beauty parlours was still prevented, unlike in the West European countries, by the high price.
