BioStimul, a
cheap home alternative to laser apparatuses,
is a compact electronic biolamp controlled by a microcomputer. It is a
source
of a specially modified (polarised) bio-stimulating light, which has a
surface
effect (on skin) as well as an in-depth effect (for example, on joints). The operation
of the apparatus is simple. The optic
equipment, the controlling microcomputer and the electronics of the
polarisation bio lamp are built in a compact plastic product, which is
maximally suitable for the anatomy of a hand and is shock-resistant.
The
apparatus is programmed so that its operation is as simple as possible.
All
controls are concentred into a single multifunctional pushbutton, which
is also
used to switch the apparatus on. All you have to do then is to direct
the
polarised bio-stimulation light on the treated area and the
microcomputer takes
care of the rest. The
multifunctional pushbutton located on the
bottom of the apparatus has the following functions:
The apparatus
will switch off automatically after
expiration of the application period (5 or 60 minutes), which is
pre-set to 5
minutes. If you want to select a longer application, you have to keep
the pushbutton
pressed for more than 3 seconds when pressing the pushbutton for the
first
time. The fact that the apparatus was switched to a longer time mode
correctly
is signalled by a short audio signal (ca 2 seconds). In 60-minute
application,
the same sound signal indicates expiration of one bio-impulse (i.e. 5
minutes;
therefore the sound signal is given 12 times in total during a one-hour
application). The period and
number of applications of polarised light
depends on the type of tissue, the indicated problems, individual
response to
light therapy and other circumstances. In general, it
can be said that with chronic problems or
with degenerative disorders, it is more suitable to select lower doses,
while
with acute cases, fresh wounds, etc., it is better to select higher
doses. For
a younger organism, we usually select a shorter period of treatment
because the
spontaneous response of the organism to external stimulation is higher.
Conversely, it is suitable to prolong the exposition adequately with
older patients.
Light therapy has the advantage that it is practically impossible to
overdose
it (except for persons with increased sensitivity to light
– in such a case,
it is necessary to consult a physician, if problems appear). You will be
able to find more detailed information on the
recommended periods of treatment for individual applications in the
following
chapters. The data stated are taken from generally available literature
and
have been confirmed by clinical practice but only serve for basic
reference. Apply the
light to a dry and clean skin from a distance of
1-2 cm (if necessary, it is possible to let the bio lamp emit light
even in
direct contact with dry skin, unless it is a case of application to
skin
problems). The light should always be perpendicular to the treated part
of the
body. If you apply
the light to hair, it is good to comb the
hair in such a way so that the therapeutic rays of the polarised light
hit
directly the hair skin. The
recommended period of action on one place is mostly
5-15 minutes and application can be repeated in various places in
immediate
succession. If the treated area is more extensive, we recommend
progressing
section by section and prolonging the application period accordingly.
If the
area to be covered were so large that the total application period
would be
unbearably long even if the above-mentioned method were used, then it
is
possible to reduce it to a half (i.e. to 2,5 - 5 minutes) and to move
the bio
lamp over the treated area very slowly at the same time.
The basic
application mode is the continuous one, in which
the polarised light of the biolamp is hitting the treated area without
interruption. Professional literature states that we will bring about a
stronger response of the organism, if use the pulse regime. The cells
have
apparently the tendency to adapt to a continuous light stimulation and
this can
lead to a relative reduction in effectiveness of the treatment after
repeated
application. This is why it is recommended using the pulse mode for
normal
treatment, unless contraindication or the character of the problems
exclude
this. |
